Irena Fernandez is an Investigative Photojournailst, covering global poverty and digital divide issues. They got their initial training in the US Navy serving ten years as a Mass Communications Specialist, duty covered; Italy, Germany, USSR, and Morocco. After service they obtained a graduate degree in Transnational Law from University of Michigan - Ann Arbor.
Shortly after college Irena was published for her photojournalism work in The San Francisco Chronicle and accepted assignment to the Global desk spending three years in India, Morocco, and Peru.
Irena focuses her work on issues of children in poverty and the third world digital divide. She has been instrumental in obtaining infrastructure for water and technology centers wherever she goes.
